THE QUICK ANSWER
Identify the plumbing job and property, then list the service call, labor and parts separately when that matches your pricing agreement. Add payment terms and any recorded deposit before sharing.
Describe the repair, not just the trade.
“Plumbing service” is difficult to reconcile with the customer’s memory of a job. Describe the fixture, issue and work completed: for example, “Kitchen sink leak repair — replaced drain seal and checked connections.”
Add the job address when the billing address is different. Include an invoice number and a business contact method so the customer can ask about a part or charge without guessing which visit you mean.
A three-line example that adds up.
The sample uses a $75 service call, 1.5 hours of labor at $100 per hour, and $45 of replacement parts. That is $75 + $150 + $45 = $270. These are fictional prices, not recommended rates.
The same example appears in the explainer and generator. Tax starts unset, no discount is applied, and there are no recorded payments. Change these values to match the actual job and your requirements.

Use the units your customer agreed to.
For hourly repairs, show hours and the hourly rate. For a fixed-price installation, use one flat fee and describe what it covers. Do not charge both an inclusive flat fee and the same included labor as another row.
Use separate rows for parts if that makes the agreed pricing clearer. Include recognizable descriptions and quantities. Avoid unexplained product codes when a plain description would help the customer identify the item.
Explain additional visits or work.
If the repair involved a follow-up, include the visit or work date in the description or notes. State which work this invoice covers and reference an earlier invoice if useful.
When something changes after you share the bill, publish a replacement version. The old sharing link is retired, while the owner retains earlier PDFs. This avoids two different documents circulating under one supposedly unchanged link.
Finish at the customer’s door or send a link.
Create a link and send it through your preferred app. The customer can review and download the invoice without an account.
You can also download a PDF to attach to your own email. Record any external payment separately with its date.
